Meditation & Mindfulness for Beginners
You've heard it a thousand times: Meditation and mindfulness are good for you. But what exactly does that mean and why and how does it translate into our daily lives, our relationships, our roles at home and at work?
In most cases, meditation doesn’t mean that we sit upright breathing in and out with no thoughts running through our head, feeling complete peace and serenity. And mindfulness doesn’t mean that we never remember the past or plan for the future. Both are much more nuanced than that.
A regular meditation practice paired with mindfulness habits can allow us to be more present in our daily lives. To make decisions from a place where we feel strong and connected, instead of scared or unworthy. They can allow us to be the kind of person we can feel proud of. It is the thing that we can keep coming back to when we feel ourselves slipping into bad habits and mind traps like spending too much time on our phones or worrying about things we can’t control.
